Food Drives

There is not much going on today except that I found a food drive and decided to buy cans to donate to it. 94.1 was on Silverado Ranch and Maryland Pkwy collecting for poor people in Vegas for the Holiday season. I do find it odd that we do this once a year only. I mean that is when all the food drives are out, and I know even myself that this is when I am up for volunteering and donating to food drives and such.
Vegas has a huge homeless problem. We also have a very large number of people who donate, whether it's time or money. Really, I find it fascinating that when there are food or toy drives, the number that these radio stations collect.

About Everyday Vegas

I moved to Vegas in 1999 from beautiful Central Coast California. I decided to blog about Vegas in everyday life because I find it very fascinating that people don't know that there is life beyond the strip. Well, I am here to blog about my life in and off the strip.
I live in Silverado Ranch, which is near Henderson, Nevada. I work on the strip so I know both that fantasy world, and the world that is somewhat normal, which I call every day Vegas.
Today I went to the District in Green Valley. I love to take my son, and my dog here because it is such a cool place to go to eat, shop, or truly just walk around. The district is a mixed use development which has Green Valley Ranch Casino, shops, restaurants, bars, and condos on the top. Oh, how I would love to live in one of these condos. On Fridays and Saturdays, there is usually a band there, usually Regge or Jazz. It's such a unique place to go and truly have fun whether you are on a date, with the family, or just with friends.
